RESEARCH OVERVIEW AND FACILITIES

FABRICATION OF NANOMATERIALS
Production of various nanoparticles such as iron, silver, and gold NPs and their surface modifications with selected-molecules (PEI, silica, tyrosine, etc.) according to the purpose of projects.
TARGETED DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEMS
Mesoporous silica nanoparticles with magnetic core are modified with target-specific ligands and used as drug delivery systems.

BIOCOMPATIBLE THIN FILMS
Biocompatible and antimicrobial surfaces are prepared using a plasma polymerization device.
ANTIOXIDANT SYSTEMS AND ENZYME TECHNOLOGY
Purification, characterization and immobilization
Purification of various enzymes from living organisms, characterization of these enzymes, and immobilization of several enzymes on NPs.
-Antioxidant tests: SOD, GSH, etc.
-A target enzyme was magnetically purified from the blood with magnetic nanoparticles prepared specifically within the scope of the TÜBİTAK project carried out in collaboration with Dr. Safinur Çelik (Bayburt University).

CELL CULTURE
In vitro studies are conducted to test the effect of the produced nanostructures on cancer and non-tumorigenic cells. In this context, techniques such as cytotoxicity and proliferation tests, imaging by fluorescence or confocal microscopy, and cell counting by flow cytometry are used.
SENSOR SYSTEMS
We are in cooperation with Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ertuğrul to produce sensitive and practical fiber optic sensors based on nanomaterials, proteins, antibodies, and antisense nucleotides.

LABVIEW
Practical use of various systems with programs written using Labview

MAGNETIC HYPERTHERMIA (MHT)
It is a device that increases the temperature of the environment with the effect of a magnetic field applied externally to the magnetic nanoparticles. In this way, we are working on heat controlled-gene expression systems and heat induced cancer cell death.

GENE CLONING AND NUCLEIC ACID DELIVERY
In collaboration with Yağmur Ünver and his team (Molecular Biology and Genetics, Faculty of Science, Atatürk University)
IN VIVO APLLICATIONS
Our joint work with medical and veterinary faculties deals with the treatment of cancer sick rats by using magnetic nanoparticles carrying immune adjuvants.
We cooperate with the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pharmacology (Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu) and the Veterinary Faculty (Ali Taghizadehghalehjoughi).
